The Wikimedians of the Western Armenian Language User Group conducted a week-long capacity-building trip to Nicosia, Cyprus, focused on strengthening Western Armenian contributions to Wikipedia through structured workshops and community engagement. The initiative was funded through a Rapid Fund Grant from the Wikimedia Foundation via the CEE Hub, led by Azniv Stepanian, and jointly designed and coordinated by Azniv Stepanian and Shahen Araboghlian.

Implemented in collaboration with the Wikimedia Community User Group Cyprus, the programme combined hands-on editing, collaborative content creation, sourcing practices, and community norms. With Cyprus’s active Western Armenian-speaking community and strong institutional support, and with the involvement of the island’s largest Armenian school and local community structures, the visit strengthened local capacity and deepened ties across Wikimedia communities.
