Wiki Loves Monuments Cyprus 2025 formed part of the world’s largest photography competition dedicated to documenting cultural heritage. The national campaign ran throughout October 2025, inviting the public to photograph monuments across Cyprus and upload their images to Wikimedia Commons under free licenses, making cultural heritage accessible to a global audience.

Organised by the Wikimedia Community User Group Cyprus, the campaign highlighted the role of photography in preserving cultural memory and supporting open, reusable cultural content, connecting local heritage with a global movement that promotes free knowledge and cultural awareness.

The campaign concluded with an Awards Ceremony, hosted in the buffer zone, at the Home for Cooperation, to allow island-wide participation. The event brought together contributors, organisers, and members of the Wikimedia community and was attended by the campaign’s esteemed judging panel, recognising the collective effort behind making cultural heritage freely accessible through Wikimedia Commons
